🩵🪡 My daughter started sewing when she was 3 years old. When I became a brand ambassador from Husqvarna Viking they sent my daughter this wonderful machine (HV/Singer/Pfaff are all affiliated) Last spring/summer, when my son was only 2 years old, kept begging me to use the sewing machine. He’s a very responsible little boy and cooks eggs on the stove with ease and was spreading hand sewing. I decided to let him try it but without the needle in. Now he just turned 3 years old and with supervision he sews confidently with the needle in. This Singer C7220 has speed control, automatic cutting and runs so smoothly. What a great gift it was to the family. Thank you @singernorthamerica ❣️ I have been sewing for over 20 years. Today would have been my dad’s 78th birthday. When he was 43 years old he built his the home he shared with his family, creating beautiful memories until he pass away in it 20 years later. My childhood home always had the warmest and grandest feelings. It truly was “home sweet home.” After my parents passed away, for many reasons out of my control, I lost the house. It was devastating and i think about it on a daily basis and sometimes dream at night about it. I turned a picture of the house into an embroidery to wear on a sweatshirt. It started out as a tribute to my dad but turned into so much more… I hope you enjoy the photos of my dad’s hard work and love for his family 🤎🏠 as well as one of the last photos ever taken as a family of 4 when we still lived in that little piece of heaven on earth. I started out creating this embroidery of my childhood home on a sweatshirt as a tribute to my dad for National Embroidery month and his birthday month. But it turned into so much more, a tribute to both my parents and the legacy they left behind. My dad built the most beautiful house and together they made it a home that we lived in until shortly after they passed away 22 years later. I tried so hard to keep the house but I wasn’t able to. I’ll get it back one day…. One special memory is Christmas 2005 in our living room, I got my very first sewing machine. Not just any machine but a HUSQVARNA® VIKING®. I used that machine for almost 20 years until I became a HUSQVARNA® VIKING® brand ambassador and they upgraded me to a Designer Sapphire 85. While I love my old machine THIS machine is far superior. It gave me the ability to embroider this design. The automatic cutter, needle threader and thread tension are just a few of the advanced features I can’t be without now. It also gives me access to @mysewnet embroidery software with thousands of preprogrammed stitches or I can create my own. I uploaded a picture of my house into the software which generated a beautiful yet complicated embroidery of groups of several thousand stitches. I easily edited it in mySewnet Digitizing to get a simpler group of 400 stitches (95,304 individual stitches). Are you interested in a new sewing and/or embroidery machine? Next project! The kiddos in my sewing machine class finished their second project so they are starting on the next one! I love making practical things 🪡🧵 so far they made a button closure pouch, a drawstring cube and now they’ll be making a tool bag for all their sewing supplies 🥳 I just want to teach them everything I know so it’s hard for me to tone it down but I know they can do it! Especially with me there to guide them. I’ll for sure simplify the embroideries though. I can make all my ideas comes to life so fast and smoothly on my HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Designer Sapphire 85 sewing and embroidery machine! This machine always takes my projects to the next level! My grandmother, Grace, passed away on December 21, 2024 at 103 years old. Just one month shy of her 104th birthday which would have been today, January 24th. She was so full of love and was loved by everyone. She was surrounded by family until the end. I grew up “down the street” from my grandparents. I would walk the dirt road often until I could drive myself over. We had weekly dinners and just enjoyed all being together. There is so much to her life that I don’t feel I have the adequate words to describe so for now I leave you with a few pictures of memories… -The first one is her 99th birthday party -2nd is her on her sewing machine (where I got my love for sewing 🪡) - 3rd is her admiring my children, her great grandchildren 4th- her enjoying her time with my 2 sisters, my niece and my daughter 5th- her with my parents, her husband and myself back in 2005 6th- her with all of her grandchildren (and Derrick) at my wedding Last but not least- her surrounded by people who adore her 💗 Now she is surrounded by all her past loved ones who have been waiting years to reunite. ✨ UPCYCLING 2024 RECAP ✨ Another year under our belts. It’s been full of fun projects for customers and myself. I took some time off this summer-winter for a few reasons but mainly to enjoy more time with my kiddos. Inez started her first year at a fantastic school that she loves so much. I am doing my second year of teaching kids to sew by hand and on the machine. And another year as a Husqvarna Viking ambassador 🎉 The year ended with quite a lot of challenges and a major family loss. I look forward to moving forward in this new year. Without hardships I would never have started my business which brings me so much. But he best is what it can bring to my customers who send me the greatest messages thanking me for creating their special pieces that brings tears to their eyes. It’s such an honor.
