FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between the “Ready-Made Shop” and “Custom Order”?
Excellent question! The “Ready Made Shop” contains items that are already created and ready to ship as soon as you purchase. “Custom Orders” consists of clothing designs that you have chosen made out of your own fabric.
How long until I receive my order?
I do my best to get your items to you ASAP! I am the only one creating these special pieces.
Ready-Made Shop: Usually ships within 2-3 business days
If you order consists of both “ready made” and “custom” &/or “made-to-order” I will ship your order in two separate shipments. You only have to pay for shipping once! I will pay for the second shipment!
Custom Orders: It will will take about 8-12 weeks after I receive your clothing, depending on the size of your order and the number of orders in my queue
Made-to-Order:
If it’s marked as “pre-order” than it should take about 3-4 week.
If you are having a design made from a garments from my studio it will take about 3-4 weeks depending on the size of your order.
Who creates my order?
I do! Hi, my name is Jessica. I am the only one who operates my small business. I have been sewing for almost 20 years. I went to the Rhode Island School of Design for apparel design. I worked in the fashion industry in London and Manhattan until a tragedy lead me home. If you’d like to learn more about me please read my “About Me’ page!
CUSTOM ORDER FAQs:
How will you know my package belongs to my order?
Please provide your ORDER # on the inside of your package! It never hurts to have it in multiple places!
What type of clothing should I send you?
I can use almost any type of clothing you’d like. For example: jeans, ties, button-up shirts, wool coat. I ask that you not send underwear or swimwear.
What is the difference between knit and woven fabric?
One of the key differences between knit and woven fabrics is the amount of stretch that each fabric gives. Knit fabric stretches a lot when pulled by its width and some stretch when pulled by its length. Woven will give almost no stretch except on the diagonal.
Will my irreplaceable clothing be safe?
Your package is delivered right to me! My neighborhood is very safe but if you have any concerns then for you own peace of mind I’d suggest sending your package certified. Your clothing is handled with the most care at my studio. For a safe return, during checkout you have the option to send certified so you have to sign for you package!
What if there is a special detail
or embellishment on my clothes I would like incorporated, i.e. shirt graphic, button or bow?
No problem! I cannot alter the designs but I’d be happy to incorporate certain details. Just let me know on the order questionnaire I email you after checkout.
Do I have to pay to ship my clothes to you?
Yes, the weight of every individual shipment varies.
What if my clothing article isn’t
enough to cover the design(s) I’ve ordered?
I will supplement with a coordinating fabric that will highlight your old clothing. Additional charge may apply if supplemented fabric is half or more of the final product.
How many articles of clothing
should I send? Can I have multiple articles of clothing used for one design?
I recommend sending at least one article of clothing per design you purchase.* So, yes you can have more than one article of clothing per design and you can inform me of which articles of clothing you would like used per design. You can notify me in the order questionnaire you will receive after check out.
*That is for adult or teen clothing size. If you choose to send children’s clothing please send at least 3-4. For baby’s clothes please send 6-8 per design purchased.
Can I send you fabric that is not from clothing?
Yes! Some examples are blankets, sheets, towels and table cloths.
Where do I send my clothes?
The address will be emailed to you after checkout!
I know what clothes I want to send
you but I don’t know which designs would look the best. Can you decide?
Yes! I would be more than happy to create each design with whichever article of clothing suits it best. Just let me know on the order questionnaire emailed to you after checkout.
What happens to my scrap pieces of clothing?
Scraps of clothing in excellent condition will be used in other projects, unless you indicate otherwise on the order questionnaire emailed to you after checkout.
What is the difference between “Custom Order” and “Made-to-Order”?
“Custom Order” consists of designs already created that you chose to purchase for me to create out of your own fabric.
“Made-to-Order” has 2 options:
Some pieces are in the process of being created and once you purchase an item it will be moved to the top of the list to be completed!
If you’d like a design made from a garment in my studio instead of from yours we can work together to pick out the fabric type, color, etc you’d like to have the design made from!
I’d like an outfit for my child. Do you have larger sizes available?
Great question! While I don’t offer my designs in sizes larger than 4T, I am happy to wok one on one with you to create a “special order.” Email me your idea(s) and I will do our best to accommodate you!
What does “raglan” mean?
Raglan refers to the style. It is a seam line that extends in one piece fully to the collar, leaving a diagonal seam from underarm to collarbone
Will my piece(s) be shared on social media?
Yes! I am proud of my process and creations and would love to share it with everyone! I never use your name or any personal information. Read the next question for more answers!
I’d love for you share my piece(s) on social
media but what if it is a gift and I don’t want the surprise ruined?
No problem! After you check out I will email you an order form where you can specify a date that it is okay for me to post after. Otherwise I will wait until your package is delivered to post your finished piece(s).
